Haug & Datter
01 · Why

A quiet room for today's thought.

Inklings is built around a single idea. A diary should be small and quiet. A still room for today's thought, not a service to keep alive.

There's no record to keep, no streak to lose, no reminders nagging. Skip four days, and Inklings is just as glad to see you on the fifth.

Daily prompt or blank page. Local first. iCloud only if you choose.

02 · How it feels

Write first. The rest can wait.

You have ten minutes between meetings. You open Inklings, see today's prompt («What did I notice?»), write two sentences. You close it again. It didn't feel like work.

The design is calm and warm. Serif type, gold accent, dark background. It feels more like a notebook than an app. No flashing elements.

03 · What it does

Daily prompt. Search. Export.

Daily prompt or blank page. Inklings can show a sentence to start the pen, or you can switch it off and just write.

Time machine and search. Flip back to this date last year. Search by word or theme across all entries. Tag system for finding your way back.

Local first. Everything stored in SwiftData on your device. iCloud sync is optional and opt-in. Export to markdown anytime.

App Intents and Siri Shortcuts. «Hey Siri, open today's Inklings» from your wrist. Small thing, but it's the kind of thing this app is built for.
