Haug & Datter
01 · Summary

Privacy, in plain English.

This Privacy Policy explains how Jonas Haug ("we", "us", "the developer") handles information in connection with the mobile game Stoneward ("the App"). We have designed Stoneward to collect as little personal data as possible. By using Stoneward, you agree to the practices described here.

· Your gameplay data (statistics, streaks, settings, in-app currency, and upgrades) is stored on your device.

· We provide global, weekly and daily leaderboards using Apple CloudKit. When you finish a run, your score and highest tier are submitted together with an anonymized identifier, never your name, email, or Apple ID.

· We use the Apple App Store for purchases.

· We show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device and usage data to serve ads. You can buy Stoneward+ to remove ads.

· We do not sell your personal data.

Last updated · 31 May 2026.

02 · On device

Information stored on your device.

Stoneward stores the following locally on your device, using Apple's on-device storage:

· Game progress, scores, statistics, and streaks

· Settings and preferences

· In-app currency ("Dust") balance and unlocked upgrades

· Whether you have purchased Stoneward+

This information stays on your device and we have no access to it, except for the score data you submit to the leaderboards as described in Section 3. Deleting the App removes the on-device data.

03 · Leaderboards

Global, weekly and daily leaderboards.

The App includes optional global, weekly and daily leaderboards powered by Apple CloudKit (a service operated by Apple, stored in our CloudKit database). When you finish a run while signed in to iCloud, the App submits the following via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit):

· Your score and the highest tier you reached

· An anonymized player identifier generated by iCloud for the App. This is not your name, email address, or Apple ID, and it does not identify you to other players.

Other players see only a masked label (for example, "Climber A8F2K") alongside a score, never your real identity. No real name, email, or contact information is ever stored or shared through the leaderboards. If you are not signed in to iCloud, scores are not submitted. To request removal of your leaderboard entries, contact us at jonas@haugogdatter.no. CloudKit data is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.

04 · Purchases

Payments handled by Apple.

Stoneward offers in-app purchases (Stoneward+ and "Dust" packs). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

05 · Advertising

Ads via Google AdMob.

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process:

· Device information (such as device model and operating system version)

· IP address and approximate (coarse) location derived from it

· A mobile advertising identifier (on iOS, the IDFA, used only if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt)

· Ad interaction data (such as ads shown and tapped)

Google uses this data to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and, where permitted, show personalized ads. Google's use of data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services". A list of Google's advertising technology providers is available here.

App Tracking Transparency: Before showing personalized ads, iOS asks whether you allow tracking. If you decline, ads will be non-personalized and your advertising identifier is not used for tracking.

Consent in the EEA/UK/Switzerland: If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use Google's consent management platform to ask for your consent before serving personalized ads. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from within the App ("Privacy options" / "Manage consent").

Removing ads: Purchasing Stoneward+ disables ads. Depending on platform settings, limited data described above may still be processed for non-advertising purposes such as fraud prevention, but ad serving stops.

06 · How we use it

How we use information.

The data described above is used to:

· Run the game on your device (local data)

· Provide the global, weekly and daily leaderboards (Apple CloudKit)

· Process purchases (Apple)

· Display and measure advertising, and offer the option to remove it (Google AdMob)

07 · Legal bases

Legal bases (GDPR).

Where the GDPR applies, we and our partners rely on:

· Your consent for personalized advertising and for use of the advertising identifier

· Legitimate interests for providing the anonymized leaderboards, showing non-personalized ads, measuring them, and preventing fraud

· Performance of a contract for completing purchases you request

08 · Sharing

Data sharing.

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with Apple (operator of the App Store and CloudKit) and Google (our advertising provider). Each acts under its own privacy policy, linked above.

09 · Your choices

Your rights and choices.

· App Tracking Transparency: Change tracking permission anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

· Ad consent (EEA/UK/CH): Review or withdraw advertising consent from within the App.

· Remove ads: Purchase Stoneward+.

· Leaderboards: Scores are only submitted while you are signed in to iCloud. To remove your leaderboard entries, contact us at jonas@haugogdatter.no.

· Delete your data: On-device data is removed when you delete the App. You can also reset progress within the App where available.

· GDPR rights: If you are in the EEA/UK, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data, and to data portability. You may contact us at jonas@haugogdatter.no; requests about data held by our providers can also be directed to Apple or Google.

· Lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about how your personal data is handled. In Norway, the supervisory authority is Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority), www.datatilsynet.no. If you reside elsewhere in the EU/EEA, you may contact your local supervisory authority.

· California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. You may exercise applicable rights by contacting us.

10 · Retention

Data retention.

On-device data persists until you delete it or uninstall the App. Your leaderboard entries (anonymized identifier, score, and tier) are retained in our CloudKit database until you ask us to delete them or we remove them during normal operation. Data processed by Apple and Google is retained according to their respective policies.

11 · Children

Children's privacy.

Stoneward is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can address it.

12 · Transfers

International transfers.

Apple and Google may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. These providers implement safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) as described in their privacy policies.

13 · Security

Security.

We rely on the security provided by Apple's platform for on-device data and CloudKit, and by Apple and Google for the services they operate. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

14 · Changes

Changes to this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
