01 · Overview

Privacy, in plain English.

This policy describes how Tenkt handles information in its iOS application. Most features work entirely offline, and we do not run our own servers or analytics.

Last updated · 12 May 2026 (covers app version 1.2.2).

02 · Local data

What stays on your device.

Stored locally and never sent to us:

· Puzzle progress, completion times, streaks, and statistics

· App preferences (theme, language, sound, haptics)

· In-progress puzzles for resuming after crashes

· In-app currency balance («traces»), unlocked marks, and quest progress

· A local cache of friends you have added (their anonymous identifier and any optional display name they have chosen)

Data remains in iOS storage only and is deleted when the app is removed.

03 · Leaderboard

Anonymous global leaderboard.

Upon completing daily puzzle sets, the app transmits to Apple's CloudKit public database:

· Anonymous identifier from your iCloud account

· Local date string of the puzzle (seedID)

· Total completion time in seconds

This data is used solely to compute and display the global leaderboard. Players see anonymized identifiers like «Player A3F4», not real names. Users can sign out of iCloud in iOS Settings to disable this feature.

04 · Friends

Friend system, added in v1.2.0.

If you choose to use the friend feature, the app stores the following in Apple's CloudKit public database:

· Friend code: a random six-character identifier (e.g. «K7P3MQ») generated by the app and linked to the same anonymous iCloud identifier used for the leaderboard.

· Display name (optional): a short label up to 12 characters that you choose yourself. Leave it blank to remain shown as «Player XXXX» to your friends.

· Friendship records: when you add another player by code, a record containing both anonymous identifiers is stored so the connection can be displayed on both sides.

Friend codes are not discoverable — they must be shared directly between people. Display names are visible only to people who have added you as a friend; they are never indexed or searchable. The app has no follower lists, no profile pages, no messaging, and no notifications about friend activity.

Removing a friend deletes the friendship record from CloudKit. To delete your friend code or all friend data, contact us at the email below.

05 · Backup

Purchase backup, added in v1.2.2.

To prevent loss of purchases and unlocked items when you reinstall the app or switch devices, the app mirrors the following to your private iCloud Key-Value Store:

· Lifetime totals for earned, spent, and purchased in-app currency («traces»)

· Identifiers for unlocked visual themes and symbol packs

· Apple StoreKit transaction IDs that have already been credited (to prevent double-crediting on multiple devices)

· Flags indicating which non-consumable purchases (Remove ads, Daily 2×, Pro Bundle) you own

This data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's Key-Value Store API. The developer cannot read it — it lives in your iCloud, accessible only by your Apple ID and the Tenkt app on your devices. Total size is under 2 KB per user. Signing out of iCloud disables this backup; the app continues to function offline.

06 · Advertising

Advertising via Google AdMob.

AdMob may collect device advertising identifier (IDFA), ad performance data, and diagnostic information for ad delivery. The app shows three ad formats: banner ads, interstitial ads between sessions, and optional rewarded ads (which users actively choose to watch in exchange for in-app currency). All three follow the same AdMob data practices.

Declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt results in non-personalized ads only. Users can purchase «Remove ads» or the «Pro Bundle» to disable all AdMob ads entirely.

07 · Purchases

Purchases via Apple StoreKit.

Apple processes the following in-app purchases through StoreKit:

· Remove ads (one-time, kr 29) — disables advertising

· Daily 2× (one-time, kr 19) — doubles daily trace earnings

· Pro Bundle (one-time, kr 39) — combines both above

· Trace bundles (consumable, kr 19 / 49 / 99) — purchase 500 / 1500 / 3500 in-app currency («traces»)

The developer receives transaction records (product ID, purchase date, transaction ID) to verify purchases and unlock features. Payment details (credit card, Apple ID password) remain with Apple — the developer never sees them.

08 · Not collected

What we don't collect.

Tenkt does not:

· Run proprietary servers or backend infrastructure

· Use analytics services beyond AdMob

· Collect names, emails, phone numbers, or contact details

· Access cameras, microphones, contacts, or location data

· Send marketing communications

· Sell user data

· Provide chat, messaging, or comments between players

· Read your iCloud Key-Value Store backup (it is private to your Apple ID)

09 · Notifications

Push notifications.

If you enable notifications, Tenkt schedules local reminders on-device only — daily nudges, streak-protection alerts, and rank updates after a top-100 finish. Remote push notifications are not sent. Users can disable notifications in iOS Settings.

10 · Children

Children's privacy.

Tenkt does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and has no chat, messaging, or comments. The optional friend system uses anonymous codes only and requires explicit code sharing between people. AdMob serves family-safe ads per Google's policies.

11 · Rights

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA).

Users in the EEA, UK, or California have rights to:

· Access: Request data held about them.

· Deletion: Request leaderboard records, friend code, or friendship records to be removed via email. Your iCloud Key-Value Store backup can be cleared by signing out of iCloud and reinstalling, or by contacting Apple support.

· Withdraw consent: Disable App Tracking Transparency in iOS Settings or purchase ad removal.

12 · Retention

Data retention.

· Local data: retained until app deletion.

· CloudKit leaderboard records: retained indefinitely for historical leaderboards; users can request deletion.

· CloudKit friend records: retained until the user removes the friendship in-app or requests deletion via email.

· iCloud Key-Value Store backup: retained in your iCloud account until you sign out of iCloud or request deletion via Apple.

· AdMob data: retained per Google policies (typically 14 months for identified data).
